У статті описується хронологія розвитку практичної концепції виробництва автомобільного транспорту з електричною тягою у світовому автомобілебудівному секторі, а також наводяться кількісні та якісні показники виробництва і збуту такої галузі на світовому рівні в ретроспективі. Виокремлюються ключові аспекти поступової концептуальної переорієнтації технологічного розвитку автомобільного будування з двигунів внутрішнього згоряння на електричну тягу та наведені основні фактори формування в рамках цього нового виробничого та інноваційного лідера в індустрії – Китайської народної республіки. Продемонстровані основні відмінності реагування основних центрів автомобільного виробництва на нові виклики та запити глобального попиту в умовах сучасної споживацької, ресурсної та екологічної кон’юнктури.
